US WWI LF&C Model 1917 Trench Knife and Scabbard
Original blued blade is in decent shape but has tarnished over the last 104 years. Hilt and guard with 7 pyramid-shaped projections on the outside of the knuckle guard still retain some original paint, including the pommel cap. 
Face of guard is marked in three lines: US / L.F. & C. / 1917. 
Walnut grip in original natural state and in great shape.. 
Iron mounted leather scabbard marked but barely visible.
Earlier production LF&C knife with an additional projection on the front face of guard, a feature that was eliminated on the majority of the production models. A scarce variant of the 1917 Trench Knife for an advanced fighting knife.
Scabbard has had some repairs done to it in the past but still in really nice condition and complete. 

Condition:
The blade retains only traces of the original blued finish. Walnut grip is in fine condition.
Leather scabbard is fine, but has been repaired in the past as mentioned earlier, retaining some of its original green color. The mounts have a dark brown patina. Original brass pistol belt hanger is present and has a dark, untouched patina. A very nice example overall..
